Strengthening Bangladesh-Brunei Ties: Brunei Envoy Thanks Engineer Rezaul Karim

Following a highly successful high-level diplomatic meeting at the High Commission of Brunei Darussalam in Dhaka, His Excellency Mr. Haji Haris bin Othman, the Honorable High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Bangladesh, has extended his heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to prominent columnist, social worker, and political analyst Engineer A K M Rezaul Karim.
In an official letter addressed to Engineer Karim, His Excellency expressed his immense pleasure in hosting the delegation, which included the renowned historian, educationalist, and political scientist, Lt. Col. (Retd.) Professor Dr. Akram Ali. The High Commissioner described the meeting as a deeply meaningful and constructive exchange of views on matters of mutual interest concerning Bangladesh, regional developments, and the broader prospects for bilateral cooperation. He also acknowledged the warm remarks regarding the participation of the High Commission’s First Secretary, Mr. Rozaimee Abdullah.
His Excellency highlighted that the discussions were both insightful and encouraging, particularly concerning the vital roles of human capital development, intellectual engagement, and the strengthening of people-to-people connections as key pillars for future collaboration between the two friendly nations.
During the meeting, the delegation presented the High Commissioner with a copy of Professor Dr. Akram Ali’s latest publication, “July Revolution: And Its Aftermath Politics.” Expressing his gratitude for the thoughtful gesture, His Excellency stated that he looks forward to reading the work to gain a deeper perspective on the evolving political discourse and developments in Bangladesh.
Furthermore, the High Commissioner highly commended Engineer A K M Rezaul Karim for his continued dedication and impactful contributions as the Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Research Centre, the Centre for Human Rights and Human Development (CHRHD), and the Democracy Research Centre (DRC) in actively promoting policy research, democratic values, dialogue, and human development.
Concluding the letter, His Excellency Mr. Haji Haris bin Othman extended his best wishes for Engineer Karim’s continued good health and future endeavors, emphasizing his eagerness to maintain this cordial engagement and further solidify the enduring bonds of friendship and cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Bangladesh.
